Perhaps you’ve heard rumblings about this powerful idea already. Companies have Boards… a group of individuals with diverse backgrounds to offer a wide variety of perspectives on strategy, key decisions and challenges. Research suggests that assembling a group of trusted individuals into your own “Personal Board of Advisors” is a hedge against the uncertainty of our times. As former Stanford grad and fellow creativity junky, Sahil Bloom, confirms - amidst the disconnection in our world today we need a place to turn for advice, guidance or simply conversation.
This is where I can best be of service. This is indeed what this site and offering is all about.
If you’re in my network… one of those that has taken the time to stay in touch, then you can count on me as one “member”. As you ascend in your working career, you are certain to have questions about the next best steps. I have the experience and connections to make much of that a little less frightening. To find out where I can best fit into your “Board”, I hope you’ll take some time to learn a bit more about who I am. Admittedly, many of you will only know me in the role of Educator. You will have had no need to understand that I had a previous life beyond the classroom - where I assisted a large number of Fortune 500 companies become better. In a world that is much more fractured and disjointed, having individuals that you can count on for support is even more essential. Not an individual “mentor” necessarily, but a team of people that can provide you a wide-range of occasional, unbiased and diverse feedback. Explore the possible roles here.
That is really what this is all about. Pushed into early retirement before I was done, landed me here. Like you, I want to make a small difference in this world. My efforts to do this started with improving companies and eventually made its way into the classroom. Now it continues here, ensuring that some of the best and brightest creative minds I’ve had the privilege to know are finding their way back to where they can reconcile how their ability to see things differently, can make our world that much better.
